This app does not have all the features that the release version has, and will not have the release level of product support. The pre-release app showcases the new user interface design and features we would like to receive your feedback on. Sigh - changes like Microsoft did to Skype - change the entire look so everyone goes “what’s happening - where is….?”. The Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta app for Mac is a pre-release app available on HockeyApp. So I might need to read a manual here - if I can find what Microsoft call this feature in the DOCUMENTATION SEARCH as it’s sure not finding “FORWARD PRINTING DEVICES” as it was called before in version 8. Still to find the “redirect printing to a local printer” option work - I’ve imported all my 87 sites (yes - 87) and find it doesn’t print to my local printer (even though the only option I can see is ticked in Remote Desktop 10 but it’s not clear if that is the one). I’m sure “under the hood” there’s been changes with version 10 which are nice - but I’m yet to read anything in the notes which makes this a “must have, upgrade”. This connection enables you to use almost any other device or computer from your Mac. It allows Mac users to remotely connect to their preferred Windows desktop to access network resources, apps, and even local files. Unfortunately I don't have a RDC host to test this with so please report back if this works or not. With the Microsoft Remote Desktop, the impossible is now a comfortable user experience for almost everyone.
After you have connected, you can work with applications and files on the Windows-based computer. Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 is a free application for managing computers remotely from anywhere with internet access. I don't know of a key emulation inside Remote Desktop RDC for Windows Key but you might try going to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Ease of Access and select the On-Screen Keyboard on the RDC host. I have over 80 Remote Desktops links and by far it’s far better layed out in Version 8 than with 10 which is just one huge list (or view them “by icons”) - so if you have more than say 4 Remote Desktops you connect to regularly, your going to see a list of “fine print” names without contrasting “darker” backgrounds every second connection - which really makes it easier to see. Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2.0.1 lets you connect from your Macintosh computer to a Windows-based computer or to multiple Windows-based computers at the same time. I have the version 8 and version 10 side by side. “Simplified” layout is actually more confusing
